Squirt Launches Dedicated Gay Dating App
Squirt, a cruising website that has operated for 25 years, has released its first standalone mobile dating app. The app, is now available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
.The launch brings Squirt’s core “cruising-first” approach to mobile devices. Unlike many mainstream dating apps that rely on swipe-based matching, SQ Dating emphasizes direct connections, local meetups, and straightforward chatting. Users can browse profiles, message others, and arrange encounters, with features adapted from the original website while meeting app store requirements.
Andrew Nolan, Head of Dating Businesses at Pink Triangle Press (the company that owns Squirt), described the iOS release as an important step for accessibility. He noted that the platform is designed for real-world connections that are direct, global, and focused on cruising without dilution. The mobile format allows users to engage on the move and in the moment, aligning with how many already interact online.
Squirt has positioned the app around facilitating offline encounters rather than prolonged digital interaction. According to the platform’s 2025 member survey, 80 percent of respondents reported successfully hooking up through the service. This statistic supports the company’s decision to maintain its original ethos in the new app format.
Mobile usage now dominates online dating, and competition among apps continues to grow. By expanding from a web-only presence to native iOS and Android applications, Squirt aims to reach more users in the environments where they currently spend time.
