TikTok Releases 2026 Trend Forecast
TikTok has published its annual trend prediction report for 2026, offering marketers a glimpse into how user behavior on the platform is expected to evolve over the coming year. The report, titled TikTok Next, is designed to help brands and app developers adapt their content strategies to changing audience priorities, based on TikTok’s internal trend analysis and platform data.
According to TikTok, the 2026 outlook centers on what it describes as an “Irreplaceable Instinct,” a broad theme pointing to growing user interest in curiosity, intention, and emotional connection. While the framing is abstract, the report breaks this idea down into three specific trend categories that TikTok believes will shape engagement across the app.
The first trend, “Reali-TEA,” suggests that users are increasingly drawn to content that feels authentic rather than polished. TikTok’s data indicates that audiences are responding more positively to real-life experiences and honest storytelling, as opposed to highly curated or idealized presentations. This reflects a longer-running shift on the platform toward relatability and transparency, particularly among younger users.
The second category, “Curiosity Detours,” focuses on the growing importance of niche interests. TikTok predicts that brands and creators who tap into smaller, passion-driven communities will have more opportunities to connect with users. Rather than relying solely on mass-appeal trends, the platform sees value in content that aligns with specific subcultures, hobbies, or emerging micro-trends.
The third trend, “Emotional ROI,” highlights a rising expectation for clarity and meaning in brand messaging. TikTok notes that users want a clearer understanding of what a product or service offers and why it matters. Emotional engagement, according to the report, is increasingly tied to perceived value rather than novelty alone.
Each trend section in TikTok Next includes supporting data points, relevant hashtags, and examples of brands that have already experimented with similar approaches. The report also provides guidance on how marketers might apply these insights, though TikTok emphasizes that the trends are predictive rather than guarantees of success.
