Tinder To Pay $60.5M For Age-Based Charging
Tinder has agreed to pay $60.5 million to resolve a class action lawsuit accusing the dating app of charging older users higher prices for Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold subscriptions compared to younger users.
The lawsuit alleged that the platform’s pricing practices violated California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act and Unfair Competition Law, which prohibit discriminatory pricing based on protected characteristics such as age.
