Replika Founder Raises $55M for New AI Platform Wabi

Wabi, a new AI platform founded by Replika creator Eugenia Kuyda, has raised $55 million at a valuation of $1.25 billion. The funding round was led by IVP, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund. Investors also included Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.

Unlike Replika, which focuses on AI companionship, Wabi is designed to help people use AI together. The platform combines an AI assistant with personalised mini-apps and shared spaces. Users can create tools to organise activities, manage schedules and coordinate plans with friends, partners and family members.

Wabi is already being used by couples to plan date nights, discover restaurants and organise shared activities. Friends can use it to find music they both enjoy or organise fitness challenges. The platform also supports personal tasks, including building routines and helping people navigate breakups.

Kuyda founded Replika in 2017, becoming an early player in the AI companion market. With Wabi, she is expanding into collaborative AI tools designed for everyday life. The new funding will support further product development and expansion. Wabi is available on iOS, Android and Mac, with a Windows version planned.
