FROM THE WEB: Vice Talks To Online Dating Ghostwriter Who Chats Up Women For Rich Men

Online Dating Ghostwriter

Online dating ghostwriting is big business nowadays, with career-driven men looking to meet someone new online but not having the time to actually spend swiping and searching on dating apps.

And so in some cases, they call on the help of ghostwriters – people who act as them online to woo women and secure them dates.

In a recent interview with Vice, 21-year-old student and ghostwriter Samantha talks about the role and what the job entails, admitting that it isn’t as easy as it may seem: “It’s a numbers game, you’re talking to 20 women at a time for each client. It could be more than that.

“It takes an average of five to eight messages to get a number. You need to build a rapport before you can say ‘let’s take this offline’.

“So much research had gone into it, which surprised me. They had hundreds of spreadsheets of how different responses were taken. A lot of it is almost just exploratory to see what works and what doesn’t.”

And despite knowing their entire life story and what they look like, ghostwriters never actually meet the men they are messaging as online – something that Samantha remarks as being “really lucky.”
