For singles who prefer binge-watching Breaking Bad to bar-hopping round town, comes a new dating app concept called Binger.
Binger wants to connect nearby singles based on their Netflix viewing habits.
However as Binger explains on their website, Netflix currently has a closed API, so the company is trying to raise awareness to convince Netflix to let Binger access their data, so they can build the app.
Their site says: “Right now, Netflix has a closed API, but we want Binger so badly we decided there was only one thing to do – get the help of all the other Bingers out there, the people who refuse to accept that you have to go out to meet someone.”
They are looking to spread the word with their hashtag, and tagline, #BeAloneTogether.
Judging by their video, Binger would let you log in when and where you watch Netflix, along with detailing what your most-watched and favourite titles are.
And if Netflix open their doors to Binger, you would also swipe left and right on certain Netflix shows and films, to find a match to marathon with.
