UK-based GPS dating app Singles Badge recently hit the top of the US iTunes lifestyle chart.

The app, which soft-launched in November, uses GPS to offer location-based dating with singles in your local area.

And since stepping up marketing and user acquisition efforts in April, Singles Badge was rewarded with the top spot on the US iTunes Lifestyle chart.

The company was simultaneously number 13 in the overall iTunes charts in the US.

Singles Badge recently hit 50,000 worldwide users, from markets including the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, China, Germany, India, Taiwan, Canada and Spain.

Singles Badge creator Michael Flann, from Dorset in England, said: “iTunes is such a huge platform for us to be rated so highly on and we’re excited to keep growing and expanding. The current Singles Badge users are really going to notice a difference now — the GPS service allowing users to see who is single and nearby effectively helps you avoid those ‘are they, aren’t they single’ conversations.”

The app offers a system where users can become a VIP or celebrity within the singles badge network, which means you can change settings to only be seen by other upgraded profiles.

The company will be rolling out TV ads in the near future.
