Facebook is the most popular site for those looking for love in emerging markets, according to a survey by marketing firm Jana.
Jana asked 1,500 internet users aged 18-30 and across nine countries – including India, Nigeria, Brazil and India – which sites they used to date.
Facebook came out on top in every country surveyed, with Twitter second in many.
The social network’s success was put down in part to the belief that people on the site were honest in comparison to dating sites, where users though it was easier to set up fake profiles and lie.
The survey also looked at who had dated someone they met online, with Vietnam coming out top with 67%, and Brazil coming last with 25%.
