Spark Networks have appointed a CFO to their new leadership team.
Robert O’Hare arrives from San Francisco-based mobile payment company Square, where he served for two years as their Corporate Finance & Investor Relations Lead.
Before this, O’Hare was Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at music-streaming company Pandora for three years.
He will become CFO at the online dating company, which owns JDate and Christian Mingle, from March 1st.
O’Hare replaces Brett Zane as CFO, who has been at Spark since 2007.
Back in December 2014, Spark Networks named Michael S. Egan as their new CEO, following a fraught leadership crisis last year, which saw active investor Osmium take control of the board of directors.
Speaking about O’Hare’s appointment, Egan said: “Rob has his finger on the pulse of financial and strategic issues affecting disruptive mobile and online businesses. He will be a critical asset in driving the utilization of data and business intelligence to capture our highest-potential growth opportunities.”
Prior to working for innovative tech companies like Square and Pandora, O’Hare started his career in investment banking at Thomas Weisel Partners, before working with Spectrum Equity Investors and Spitfire Capital.
