FROM THE WEB: ‘Unlocking The Value Of Tinder – A VC Valuation Exercise’ Seeking Alpha

Samuel Harrison has written an article on Seeking Alpha about the potential of Tinder, and why it needs to be evaluated through the eyes of a VC analyst, rather than by traditional Wall Street metrics.

Harrison says if Tinder has 50m MAU, compared to companies with similar numbers, the app could be worth $5 billion. However there have been suggestions that the real figure is closer to 18m.

He also says that Tinder would work better as a spin-off, rather than trying to evaluate it by forthcoming in-app purchases and other monetisation strategies.
