Jaumo Launches Live Video Feature in European First

Jaumo has become the first dating app in Europe to introduce a live video feature.

It will allow users to talk face-to-face easily on the platform, both in couples and in groups, and both before and after they have matched.

“With live video we want to give our app users a whole new environment to meet and chat. A video typically gives singles a much better idea of what a person is really like than a photograph,” says Jaumo co-founder Jens Kammerer.

The videos have no time limit – users can stream for as long as they like, interacting with other singles via a communal on-screen text box.

The feature is currently available on Android, for users with Android version 6.0 or newer. The launch for iOS is scheduled for early in the new year.

Jaumo was founded by Jens Kammerer and Benjamin Roth in 2011. The app has 30 million users in 180 countries, with around 500,000 users in the UK.

It uses a simple, swipe-based interface, and users can chat once they have both swiped right on one another.

Jaumo can be downloaded free of charge as an iOS and Android app.
