Adultery Platform Gleeden Edges Closer to One Million Indian Users

The extra-marital affairs app Gleeden has seen over 800,000 people sign up for its services since it was introduced in India. The largest majority of the new users are from tech hub Bengaluru.

Activity on the app rose significantly in the first week of January when couples have resumed their work and children go back to school.

Gleeden also has substantial evidence that the New Year’s resolution of thousands of Indians is to commit infidelity, or flirt with others with the intention of committing infidelity.

A growth rate of over 567% shows the rising popularity of the extramarital dating app among individuals looking for meaningful encounters outside their wedlock, the French online dating community platform said.

This sudden surge of users on the app is the result of the New Year rush witnessed as a pattern among the dating app users. ‘Dating Sunday’ is the first Sunday of the new year and is annually observed as the busiest day for online dating.

In the first seven days of January, Gleeden’s daily subscriptions grew by over 300% compared to the previous two weeks.
