AskMen Survey Explores Most Requested Dating App Features

Male lifestyle website AskMen has conducted a survey to find out what new features dating app users would like to see.

The survey was distributed to over 1,000 single men and suggested potential updates, as well as giving the participants the opportunity to write their own.

28% of men wanted to see data based on how well their profile is performing, making it the number one response.

Pickable is a dating app that has a statistics page for men, showing how they rank compared to others in their region and how many women have viewed their profile. Furthermore, Once’s users give feedback on their dates, so each profile has an average star rating attached.

The most popular option specifically for Tinder users was the introduction of automatic first date suggestions, something a number of up-and-coming startups are trying to perfect.

Being able to undo a swipe is a feature 13% of men would like to have. Tinder Rewind lets premium members bring back a card they accidentally swiped left on, while all Bumble users can simply shake their phone to achieve the same result.

Other responses include seeing who else their match is chatting with (14%), seeing who has blocked them (14%) and editing message capabilities (10%).

One of the self-written answers suggested forcing users to reply to a message once they had read it. Apps such as Badoo, Bumble and eharmony come closest here, with each trying to reduce ghosting via notifications.
