Badoo is due to release the first episode of a new online dating show titled ‘Badoo Dating SOS’ on its UK social media channels today.
Contestants on the show are sent on real-world dates with two other singles, chosen for them by the app’s “dating experts”.
The first episode features a woman called Jade Savage who met Ray and Chris. Both dates went well, and she’s optimistic there could be a future.
According to The Scottish Sun, she said: “I’m not looking for the ideal man – I’m looking for the ideal relationship. You need to be happy and confident about yourself first and then the rest will come.
““It was wonderful to meet two gentlemen who were interesting, attentive and didn’t just want to focus on my looks. Ray was definitely my type, and if the opportunity were to arise, I would love to see him again – let’s see.”
Savage made national news last month when she travelled for three hours to see a man that she matched with on Tinder, only for him to tell her that she had put on weight when she arrived.
The date ended soon after that, and Savage set up a crowdfunding campaign to recover the £93 that she had spent. Just over £1,000 was donated in the end, and Bumble offered to match the money to make sure she doesn’t get put off online dating forever.
On Sunday, Tinder released the first episode of its apocalyptic show ‘Swipe Night’. The choose-your-own-adventure story aired inside the dating app, and viewers were able to make decisions by swiping through various situations at the end of the world.
