Badoo Reaches 400 Million User Milestone

As of yesterday, Badoo has surpassed 400 million global users on its dating-focused social network.

Although the counter on the sign up page still has the number at just over 399 million, the official number at the Badoo offices hit the milestone last night.

The news was revealed by product manager Toby Wilkins, who posted a video of the defining moment on his LinkedIn page.

Wilkins’ caption read: “Pretty awesome moment… we hit 400m users on Badoo yesterday, that’s 1 in every 19 humans on the planet”.

Competitor Tinder has been downloaded over 100 million times on Android alone, though it does not share data on its total user base.

Earlier this year, Badoo removed swiping from its network and added a video streaming feature called Badoo Live’.

GDI’s August Editorial looked at the future of online dating and whether tomorrow’s singles will swipe or stream.

Badoo will be speaking at the GDI London Dating Conference later this month.
