BeautifulPeople Offers Plastic Surgery Discounts to Rejected Members
BeautifulPeople has partnered with a plastic surgeon who will provide feedback to rejected applicants.
The platform is run like a ‘democracy’; potential users are only allowed to join the community if existing members deem them to be beautiful enough.
If an aspiring member is unsuccessful, they can pay $45 for Beverly Hills-based surgeon, Linda Li, MD., to point out their physical flaws. She will also give advice on how they can improve their looks with the help of makeup or plastic surgery.
Managing Director of BeautifulPeople, Greg Hodge came up with the idea after he himself was rejected from joining the site as a customer.
Hodge said on Bravo: “After eight years of being off the site, I wanted to get back on the factory floor and experience my app as a customer.
“When I couldn’t get voted back on, it was a blow. It wasn’t good enough to just be told your application wasn’t successful. Like any break-up, you must know why.”
Any unlucky customers that do decide to go ahead with a suggested procedure will receive a discount, as a result of being referred by BeautifulPeople.
A reason that Hodge was rejected from the site were the bags under his eyes, which was listed as one of the top 10 most common flaws of failed applicants. Other common faults include being overweight, bad hair and jaundice skin.
