Blued Raises $100 Million in Series D Funding

Blued has recently raised $100 million in Series D funding.

The Beijing-based gay dating app’s funding round was led by Hong-Kong based CDH Investments.

The company will apparently use the funds to go towards product optimization and platform diversification.

Previously, in February 2014, Blued raised $1.6 million in a Series A funding with Crystal Stream Capital and Zhonglu Capital.

It was then followed by a $31 million Series B funding in November 2014 with Beijing-based Shunwei Capital and California-based DCM Ventures.

In 2016, the company raised an unknown amount in a Series C funding with China-based firms Ventech China and Vision Knight Capital.

Recently, Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Informatics has asked the Google Play Store to prevent Indonesians from downloading 70 LGBTQ social and dating apps, and Blued has been named as one target of the ban.
