Bumble Announces Grants For Struggling Small Businesses
Bumble has announced it will give away £5000 grants to 150 small businesses that are currently struggling due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The female-first social app is launching the giveaway as part of its Bizz initiative, The Bumble Community Grant.
Users will have the chance to nominate local businesses in need, as well as being able to nominate themselves. The application form is available by swiping right on the in-app card until 5th April.
Bumble will prioritise businesses led by women and non-binary founders, and users can nominate up to five small businesses per person. The successful businesses will receive instant monetary support.
As well as offering support to small businesses, Bumble has also donated $100,000 to the World Health Organisation.
It has regularly provided funding to female-led businesses around the world, and even teamed up with tennis superstar Serena Williams to launch the ‘Bumble Fund’ 12 months ago.
They invested an average of $25,000 in nine technology startups to help develop their products.
