Bumble Bizz Launches APAC Entrepreneur Competition

Bumble Bizz has launched its first APAC pitch competition to award aspiring female entrepreneurs with a grant to help fund their businesses.

The contest is being run in Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, the Philippines and Singapore; the six APAC regions where Bumble is officially live. One winner from each country will win $5,000 USD.

An application profile card is going to be available on Bumble Bizz until 27th September, enabling women to apply for the grant or nominate a friend’s company.

The six winners will be flown to Sydney to accept the award at the inaugural APAC Bumble Bizz Summit on 10th October.

Michelle Battersby, Bumble’s APAC Marketing Director, told Marie Claire: “In awarding the grants we’ll be looking for businesses that have a clear mission and aim to solve a real world problem.

“We’ll be asking applicants to show why their business exists, how it is currently funded, and how the grant will support future growth.

“For us at Bumble, this is about providing opportunities for women entrepreneurs and opening up more pathways to success for them, while also encouraging them to make the first move with their business ventures.”

Bumble users are eligible for free tickets to the APAC Bumble Bizz Summit, where successful founders of women-led businesses will detail their own experiences of working in different industries.

Last month, Bumble launched a similar competition in Detroit. A prize of $10,000 will be given to one company that benefits women in the city.
