bumble

Bumble has announced the winners of its film fund competition.

The Female Film Force is donating £20,000 each to five female filmmakers to help them produce their short films.

A shortlist consisting of 10 projects was announced in July, and since then the teams have pitched their projects to Bumble’s all-star board of judges.

The five winning projects are; Ama Divers, A Battle in Waterloo, Hatima, Pat and The Leaving Party.

Along with the funding, the winners will receive mentoring from successful members of the industry and Women in Film And TV.

CEO of Women in Film and TV, Kate Kinninmont, was a member of the selection jury. She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Women in Film and TV are delighted to support this fantastic Female Film Force initiative.

“The pitch day was full of inspiration, creativity and sheer joy. It was a pleasure for us to meet these amazing women and their teams.”

Bumble is in the initial stages of planning a viewing party for the five films in January 2019. There are also plans for the films to go on the festival circuit next year.

The dating app has partnered with HBO to host special cinema screenings of films in New York, later on in August.
