Chispa, BLK, and POF to Leave ‘Live’ Community

Match Group dating apps Chispa, BLK, and Plenty of Fish will leave the livestreaming community hosted by The Meet Group. Taking effect on the 22nd of January 2024, this change will impact the cross-platform interactions between dating app users.

Livebox is a video live streaming tool developed by The Meet Group, and it has been harnessed by apps within the Match Group portfolio for a number of years. This collaboration has allowed for users to interact with one another in a cross-platform live streaming environment.

Recent statements on Instagram from The Meet Group apps Tagged, Skout, and MeetMe, stated that platforms Chispa, BLK, and Plenty of Fish would be leaving the ‘Live’ community.

“While we’re sorry to see these members of our community leave, Live is stronger than any one app and the future has never been brighter”, the statement said.

The Livebox tool allows for engaging live streaming features, enabling a creator economy to develop among dating app users and providing opportunities for monetisation. Geoff Cook, Founder and former CEO of The Meet Group, explained about the value of live video entertainment and the development of Livebox in a podcast from January 2023.

While these apps have left the Live community, the statement shared that there are exciting plans in place for the livestreaming tool.

“We have lots of exciting plans to keep delivering new features like streamer subscriptions, new gifts, more online and real-world events like LiveFest, new VIP and Top Badge Benefits and much more to make our community even stronger in 2024 and beyond!”, it explained.

Tagged, Skout, and MeetMe also provided relevant contact details so that users can reach out and ask questions about this upcoming change.
