Coffee Meets Bagel Raises $12 Million in Series B Funding
Coffee Meets Bagel has raised $12 million in Series B funding this week.
The round has been led by UK VC firm Atami Capital and brings the dating app’s total up to just under $20 million since launching back in 2012.
According to the app, the latest funding will now drive investments towards more Coffee Meets Bagel experiences and international expansion. It will also go towards “product innovation.”
Co-CEO of Coffee Meets Bagel Arum Kang said that the Series B funding has brought on board a number of VC firms with “prominent female investors,” including Gingerbread Capital.
Kang added: “We’re excited for the next phase of Coffee Meets Bagel, and are pleased to have some wonderful international and female investors on board. Given our focus on female experience, it was very important that we have a female perspective at the investor level.”
Last year, the app expanded its video feature to add an extra dimension to its users’ profiles.
