Coffee Meets Bagel Recognized by Singapore Government for Online Safety

Coffee Meets Bagel (CMB) has been recognized by Singapore’s Ministry of Law for its contribution to online safety under the country’s Online Safety Relief and Accountability Act (OSRAA).

The dating app was recognized as a valued partner during an OSRAA Appreciation Tea attended by Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong.

Coffee Meets Bagel highlighted its existing safety measures in Singapore, including its integration with Singpass, the country’s national digital identity system. The company says it was the first and remains the only dating app to introduce Singpass verification in Singapore.

OSRAA is a new Singapore law designed to give victims faster ways to respond to online harm. The bill was introduced in Parliament on October 15, 2025, and passed on November 5, 2025. Key provisions came into effect on June 29, 2026, alongside the launch of the Online Safety Commission. The first phase covers online harassment, doxxing, stalking, intimate image abuse and image-based child abuse. The law also places responsibilities on online platforms and provides victims with new avenues to seek relief and compensation.
