Credit Score Dating App ‘Score’ Relaunches
Score, the polarizing dating app that ties love to creditworthiness, is officially back. Founder Luke Bailey announced the permanent relaunch on February 13, 2026, just ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Originally launched in 2024 as a limited experiment requiring a minimum credit score of 675, the app drew massive attention, amassing 50,000 users in six months before vanishing. Critics slammed it as classist, but Bailey says persistent demand – from users, academics, and ongoing inquiries – proved it tapped into a deeper conversation about financial compatibility in relationships.
“Financial compatibility is quietly one of the most important relationship factors, yet no dating platform addresses it directly,” Bailey told TechCrunch, citing stats like 54% of people viewing a partner’s debt as divorce grounds.
The new Score addresses past feedback by becoming more inclusive. Available now on the iOS App Store (with Android likely next), it features two tiers:
- Basic tier: Open to everyone—no credit check or ID verification needed. Users can browse and connect freely.
- Verified tier: Requires ID and credit score confirmation via Equifax (soft pull only, no impact on scores). Premium perks include seeing nearby verified members, viewing profile savers, sending video intros, and messaging before mutual swipes.
Bailey emphasizes privacy: No full credit reports or sensitive data are stored, everything is encrypted, and data isn’t sold. He frames credit scores not as wealth indicators but as proxies for “consistency and reliability” – qualities banks and partners both value.
