Online dating app Happn announced this morning it is about to launch a brand new feature in the coming weeks.
The new feature is called CrushTime, and aims to “create another layer of discovery” for users of the dating service.
CrushTime will show users the profiles of four people they have recently crossed paths with.
Of these four profiles, one of the users will have already liked your profile, and CrushTime asks you to guess who it might be.
CrushTime was created after a design thinktank session held in early 2017 with Google.
The new feature is currently being beta tested in Spain, ahead of a global launch in the coming weeks.
Didier Rappaport, the CEO and co-founder of Happn said: “CrushTime reinforces our company manifesto to ‘Make chance happn,’ adding another tool to optimise chance and empower our users to make the best out of fortuitous encounters.
“In order to further support our manifesto, we have introduced artificial intelligence into our system, innovating the app to enrich the experience of our users.”
The launch of the feature comes after last year’s release of See You There, the offline feature that allows users to spontaneously arrange a quick date, whether going for a walk, grabbing a drink or catching a movie.
In January 2017, Happn also implemented its own AdServing platform to help diversify its revenue strategies, the native and programmatic display inventory already attracting advertisers like Ikea, Coca-Cola and BMW.
