Machine learning love advice platform Evolve has been acquired by HubSpot.
Evolve is a mobile technology and machine learning company that gives users advice and insight into dating and relationships.
Available for iOS, the app calls itself “the world’s first dating and relationship manager” and allows users to track the dates they have been on, get insights on their online dating use and find local date spot recommendations.
HubSpot is an inbound marketing and sales platform with over 31,000 total customers in 90 countries that provides marketing, sales and CRM software.
Speaking about the acquisition, HubSpot’s Chief Strategy Officer Brad Coffey said: “HubSpot added Evolve for its perspective and world class development team.
“We are excited to welcome Evolve into the HubSpot ecosystem to continue pushing the envelope on how CRM applications play a role in our daily lives.”
Evolve was founded in 2015 by Eric Boutin and raised $1m in seed funding in November 2015 from investors including Spark Capital.
The dating and relationship manager was also one of 13 Techstars Boston alumni this year.
Boutin was previously the co-founder of diagnostic centre Good Start Genetics, which was acquired by Invitae in July 2017.
He was also the co-founder of biotechnology company, Flex Pharma, which IPOed in January 2015.
Evolve CEO Eric Boutin said: “Our product development team created a truly innovative consumer app, that provides self-awareness and relationship advice.
“We believe personal relationships are one of the next frontiers for machine learning, and that data can be a valuable tool in helping people make decisions.”
