Dig, a dating app that specifically targets dog lovers, has named Dallas as the latest US city in its launch run.
Users with the app already downloaded will get free entry and drinks at a dog-friendly party in the Thanksgiving Tower WeWork on 8th August. A number of different companies providing pet services will be exhibiting and giving away gifts and discounts.
The SPCA of Texas, the leading animal welfare organisation in the state, is an official partner of the event. It will be looking to find a new home for some of its rescue dogs at the launch.
Other sponsors include animal photographers, pet boutiques, treat suppliers, and The Art of Racing in the Rain. The upcoming film features Kevin Cosner, and follows a dog who believes he will be reincarnated in his next life as a racing driver.

Dig, which was first released in 2018, welcomed its 100,000th user at the end of July. The milestone came just a couple of weeks after it hosted a similar launch event in Seattle.
It is now live in more than 15 cities, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Profiles on Dig feature both the single owner and their dog, and the interface hosts an extensive list of nearby first date locations which welcome humans and animals alike.
Users are regularly sent deals from some of the partnered pet businesses, and get daily tips about how to make their dog’s life even more pampered.
Co-founder Leigh Isaacson spoke at the GDI Los Angeles Conference in June about how startups can be newsworthy and get relevant press coverage.
