GDI Talks Industry Maturity, ISP Filters & Dating’s Future With The ODA

odakiddinterview

Recently, Global Dating Insights sat down with the chief executive of the Online Dating Association, George Kidd, to chat about some of the big issues currently facing the dating industry.

In the wide-ranging interview, Kidd discusses how the industry has come “above the radar” in the past few years, and why this developing maturity requires companies to come together and form a collective voice.

We also touch on last year’s ISP overhaul around the government’s “porn filters”, the importance of having influence with third parties like the police, and Kidd’s ambitions for the ODA’s “unique model” over the next few years.

The ODA was formed back in 2013 by a number of industry players who saw the need for the industry to step up and take responsibility for setting and maintaining standards.

The organisation now counts dating companies like eHarmony, Match.com, Christian Connection, Lovestruck and Dating Factory as members.

GDI recently became an associate of the ODA, a partnership that seeks to help strengthen the association’s capacity and capability to speak for the sector, and help protect and grow a healthy market.
