happn Launches New Feature to Find Crushes by Geolocation

Today, happn released a new interactive mapping feature which allows users to select a location they’ve recently visited to see if any other singles were nearby.

happn Maps was first announced in June to celebrate the dating app surpassing 50 million profiles.

All users need to do is tap an area of the map that they’ve visited in the last seven days and a list of potential ‘crushes’ will appear.

A spokesperson for happn told GDI: “You can have a look at specific locations and use your timeline differently. If you have met someone two days ago in one specific place you don’t have to scroll all the way down to find them”

Numbers indicating how many people a user has crossed paths with in a given area will also be visible.

The location of other members will be displayed within a radius of 250m, to offer accuracy while preserving their safety and confidentiality.

happn Founder Didier Rappaport said in a statement: “The crossing of paths between two people has always been the DNA of happn and with the new Map feature, we go further in our promise by separating the dimensions of space and time, because time flies, but places stay still!”

There are a couple of other new features that have recently been added to the happn platform.

See You There’ lets members show if they’re available to go on an impromptu date and ‘CrushTime’ makes users try and guess who they’ve been liked by.
