Hinge Adds Captions & Locations To Its Picture Story Profiles

Hinge launches

Users of dating app Hinge can now add captions to their picture stories.

The New York-based dating app, which relaunched last October, uses “story” profiles rather than focusing on swipeable cards.

Hinge’s profiles highlight personal information about users’ education, job and mutual friends, as well as letting singles comment on other members’ photos.

And with its latest update, version 4.2.1, Hinge now lets users add a caption and location to the photos in their Story.

To view the caption, other singles simply tap the photo.

As Hinge said: “A picture is worth 1,000 words. But sometimes you need 1,004. Today, you can start adding captions and locations to photos in your Story to show even more personality.”

The dating brand also said photos with captions are twice as likely to help start a conversation.

After relaunching in October with its $7 membership fee, it was revealed a month later that Hinge was offering freemium options to early adopters.
