Hinge Names VP Jeff Dunn as First Chief Risk Officer
Hinge has appointed Jeff Dunn as its first-ever Chief Risk Officer – Dunn, who previously served as Vice President of Trust & Safety, steps into the newly created role as the dating platform continues to expand its risk management and user protection efforts. With more than a decade of experience in online safety, Dunn brings a background that includes roles at Google, ICANN, and Harvard University, where his work has spanned child protection, election integrity, and platform operations. He is also a co-founder of the Trust & Safety Network, an initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation within the industry.
In his new capacity, Dunn will be responsible for overseeing risk across both user-facing and internal company operations. Hinge’s approach emphasizes prevention and user empowerment, leveraging both policy development and technical innovation. Under Dunn’s leadership, the company has introduced safety features such as the Comment Filter and an AI-enhanced version of its “Are You Sure?” anti-harassment tool.
