Hinge has teamed up with popular restaurant-reservation service OpenTable to help users find the best spot for a first date.
The two companies launched the ‘Date Night Guide’, which gives tips about how to find the best eatery for the situation, whether its a first date or a marriage anniversary.
The main feature of this new partnership is the ‘Date Night Matchmaker’. Available on desktop and mobile, the matchmaker automatically gives recommendations to the consumer based on the answers they gave to five simple questions.
There is also a ‘BookTheBar’ tool which will let daters reserve a chair at the bar where they can grab a cocktail before or after their meal.
Once the booking has been made, the user can share it with a guest so both of them know when and where to meet.
Hinge’s CMO Nathan Roth explained in a statement: “We recently uncovered that most Hinge members spend over an hour trying to find the perfect date spot and are hungry for recommendations.
“Our goal at Hinge is to help our members get off the app and out on a great date. With Date Night Matchmaker, we hope to help even more members plan a date they’ll never forget.”
A small survey conducted with active members of the dating app found that 81% wish it was easier and less stressful to find the perfect venue for a date.
The recent ‘Designed to be Deleted’ global advertising campaign showed Hinge’s commitment to getting singles off the app, on dates and into lasting relationships.
