Instagram has just announced that it has reached the milestone of 500m users.
This is up from 400m since last September, meaning Instagram has added another 100m members in just six months.
And of these 500m users, a massive 300m use the app every day.
Interestingly, Instagram also revealed that 80% of its users come from outside the US.
Instagram is increasingly being used to advertise and promote brands, with dating app TrueView recently revealing that its campaigns on the photo-sharing platform drove a 62% increase in app installs.
The tech giant also revealed that since launching performance-based solutions, 78% of advertisers running mobile app install campaigns have seen an increase, with 58% of online sales campaigns also getting a boost.
And Instagram is now planning more changes to its business service, currently testing business profiles and the ability to promote well-performing posts as ads.
