Instagram Set to Launch New ‘Nametags’ Feature

Instagram

Instagram has recently announced that it is preparing to launch a new feature called Nametags.

Nametags allows users to create a special image which friends can scan with the Instagram Stories camera to follow them.

Nametags is reportedly meant to make it easier for people to visually promote their own Instagram account. It can also make it easier to follow a friend you have just met by getting them to open their Nametag.

Businesses and social media stars can post their own Nametag across their other social media platforms, can print it onto posters or even make merchandise out of it.

Instagram told TechCrunch recently that it is currently testing the new feature.

Once users have access to the new feature, they’ll be able to hit a QR scanner button on their profile to bring up the new Nametag editor.

Users will be able to choose from a purple Instagram colour gradient background, a pattern of an emoji of their choice, or a selfie they can add face filters to.

The user’s Instagram username will also appear in the centre of the Nametag.
