Korean Dating Operator BNK Lab Acquired by Health Firm

CareLabs, a Korean healthcare platform provider, has acquired dating app operator BNK Lab. The deal saw CareLabs buy all 50,000 shares of BNK for approximately $9.85 million.

There are 8 apps published on the iOS App Store by BNK Labs. They were downloaded a combined 40,000 times last month, and have received over 35,000 ratings in total.

Sites under the BNK umbrella have a combined monthly active user (MAU) base of 240,000.

Swithme, one of the most successful brands, ranked third on the Korean Play Store in November. It boasts around 50,000 daily active users (DAU).

Other BNK dating properties include DangYeonsi (over 1 million registrations) and Sweetme. The firm also operates a plastic surgery information resource called ‘Babitalk’.

“Both CareLabs and BNK Lab are online-to-offline platforms, popular among people in their 20s and 30s,” an official at CareLabs told The Investor Korea.

“We expect to see great synergies together, as we increase our user base and expand into overseas markets.”
