Lennart Schirmer Named Tinder’s New Regional Director of Europe
Tinder has promoted Lennart Schirmer to be the company’s new Regional Director of Europe, where he will head up operations in Western Europe focusing on user growth and brand perception.
Schirmer joined the dating app in 2017, and previously acted as the Country Manager for Germany. He will remain based at the Berlin offices.
Talking about his promotion, Schirmer said in a statement: “The last year and a half at Tinder has been an adventure, and I am excited for the opportunity to continue cultivating positive experiences for our users across the wider European markets.
“Tinder has fundamentally changed the way that people meet and date today, and being at the forefront of culture and the single journey in Western Europe is an amazing place to be.”
Tinder’s CMO Jenny Campbell continued: “Lennart has proven his ability to truly understand the Tinder business, and to drive the German market creatively.
“We will be turning to him to help us build and expand a strong marketing playbook across the region, and look forward to seeing the impact he will make in this role.”
Germany has been an important market for Tinder and was one of the regions that Top Picks was originally tested in. It is currently the second highest grossing iPhone app in the country, ahead of The Meet Group’s LOVOO in fifth.
