LinkedIn Tests Suggested Topic Feeds for Users

LinkedIn is experimenting with suggested feeds, providing selected users with alternative topic-focused content streams alongside their main news feed. The test aims to help professionals stay informed on developments in their fields and broader trending topics. Julia Cabral Flavin, Senior Director of Product Marketing, shared an example of the feature, noting it is based on user engagement patterns and current news.

This is LinkedIn’s second attempt at alternative feeds. A similar test occurred last year but appeared limited in scope and impact. The current version takes a different approach, potentially highlighting a wider variety of content to increase exposure and engagement.

LinkedIn has reported steady growth in activity. In Q1 2026, posts increased 14% and paid video grew nearly 30% year-over-year, according to CEO Daniel Shapero. Expanding feed options could help distribute this growing volume of content more effectively across the platform.

The test is currently running with a select group of users attending the Cannes Lions festival. Cabral Flavin indicated initial feedback has been positive, which may lead to a wider rollout in the coming months.
