Dating giant Badoo is launching a new feature that lets you search the app’s user base by celebrity lookalikes.
The new facial recognition feature allows users of Badoo to search the app’s database by a picture of someone’s face.
This can either be a celebrity’s picture, or one that you have personally uploaded to the dating app.
Speaking about the feature, called Badoo Lookalikes, Miles Norris from Badoo said: “People are looking for quick, fast, and easy ways to start connections.
“And if someone’s looks is a good on-boarding to that, then we want to make it easy for them.”
According to Badoo, so far the most searched celebrity in the UK is Robert Pattinson, followed by Cara Delevingne, Fearne Cotton, Kate Moss and Emilia Clarke.
Worldwide, Kim Kardashian ranks at number one, followed by Emma Stone, Selena Gomez and Beyonce.
There are also 1,443 facial matches for Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn on the dating app.
The tool bears a very strong resemblance to a recently released app called Dating.ai, which lets you search through the databases of various online dating services to find people who look like certain celebrities.
(We have reached out to Dating.ai to find out if there is any connection between the two services, and will update if we hear anything back.)
According to Badoo, users of the service who don’t want to appear in the facial recognition results can opt to remove themselves from the search results.
The new feature will roll out over the coming weeks.
