OkCupid Launches Vaccinated Badge and Stack in India

OkCupid has introduced a vaccination badge for users in India, encouraging young people to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

The launch of the badge lets individuals announce their vaccination status on their profile, and also join the vaccinated ‘Stack’ so they can match with others who have had the jab.

For the ones who have not had a chance to get vaccinated yet but are open to it, OkCupid will help with medically verified information to answer any questions and address concerns.

There has been a 763% increase in OkCupid conversations about the vaccine in the country since March 2021.

Marketing Director Anukool Kumar said in a statement: “OkCupid has always been a platform which empowers users to find their kind of a partner based on shared interests, quirks and beliefs, as love is best experienced with a partner on the same wavelength.

“With vaccination being the most important point of conversation today, we felt a responsibility to help daters who have gotten vaccinated or want to get the vaccine match with others who believe the same as it is a matter of health and safety.”

OkCupid also ran a study, to understand the impact that vaccinations would have on dating online going forward. Approximately 70% of respondents said they would take the vaccine when offered.

It also found that 45% of women would cancel a date with someone if their match was explicitly opposed to having the jab
