App Annie, a leading analytics and data provider for the mobile app market, has announced the winners of its Top Publisher Awards 2020.
The annual awards celebrate the leading app publishers from all over the world. It lists the top 52 companies based on revenue from the iOS and Google Play stores, as well as estimates from other regions and countries.
Several companies related to the online dating industry were represented in some of the categories.
IAC, owner of the Match Group portfolio, was the 10th largest publisher by revenue in the global market and the second largest in North America.
However, the business is set to take a revenue hit when it floats Match Group as a standalone company in Q2 of the current financial year. The online dating conglomerate was responsible for 45% of IAC’s quarterly earnings at the end of 2019.
The Meet Group was also listed as the 25th biggest publisher in The Americas. Using live streaming as one of its main sources of income, the company was able to generate $211.7 million in revenue during the past year.
Finally, MagicLab made it onto the worldwide list in 51st position. The London-based company, which owns Badoo, Bumble and Lumen, was the 6th biggest from the EMEA region.
Last week, App Annie analysed the impact that the coronavirus outbreak is having on the online dating industry. While several of the biggest brands have seen a decrease in activity over the past few weeks, this is typical for the period after Valentine’s Day and might not be specifically due to the current situation.
