Petmeet is a new dating app startup based in Minneapolis, USA. Bringing together pet owners for romance and friendship, this platform is now looking to set itself apart from other dating apps in this space.
‘Petmeet: Pets, Dates & Friends’ is a new platform that enables users to create profiles for their pets, with an algorithm then suggesting relevant matches based on interests, personalities, and other factors.
Once a match has been made, the pet owners can chat with one another, with Petmeet curating potential date ideas. Pet lovers can also connect for romance or friendship through chat rooms hosted on the platform.
“The bonds we form with our pets reveal our capacity for responsibility, empathy, and unconditional love. At Petmeet, we celebrate these powerful connections while bringing together people who understand that pets are family”, a spokesperson for Petmeet shared.
Petmeet has been raising brand awareness through TikTok and other social media platforms. One TikTok video, which gives an overview of the dating platform’s mission, has received over 45,000 views so far.
The concept of creating connections through pets is not a new one, but Petmeet recognises this, saying it “stands out from other pet-focused communities and dating platforms by recognizing that lasting bonds often arise from shared passions and experiences”.
The platform has already created two tiers for premium subscribers, ‘Silver Paws’ and ‘Golden Whiskers’. For $5.99 per month, users can unlock unlimited swipes, but for 5 dollars more they will also receive an ad-free experience and a monthly profile boost.
