PositiveSingles Launches in Canada

PositiveSingles, a dating platform providing services to those with sexually transmittable diseases including Herpes, HIV and HPV, announced its move into Canada late last week.

A longstanding offering in the STD dating niche, the site’s homepage claims 1.6 million registered users, 2.5 million monthly conversations and over 60,000 success stories.

It also has an active community forum, only visible to those with an account. There, over 125,000 blog posts have been submitted along with a further 11,000 conversational threads.

The site’s ‘SPARK’ mode resembles swipe-based mobile apps, though it is usable in a browser. Profile cards list some basic identifying information along with the STD each user is living with.

CEO Suny Zhang said: “While there are other sites like PositiveSingles out there, few have the same level of customer service and features.

“If you are living or infected with an STD and seeking support, friendship, romance or just medical information, this is the right place for you.”

PositiveSingles runs a freemium model, with its premium membership plan priced at $29.95 per month (or $15.95 per month for six months).

Paid members gain access to an STD counsellor, are “viewed and contacted 20+ times more than standard members”, and enjoy 40+ other benefits.
