Score – The Dating App for People with Good Credit
Score is an exclusive dating platform reserved for people with a good credit score. The limited-time initiative was created by Neon Money Club, an investment advisor and financial literacy group.
In order to join Score, new members must submit information that allows for identity verification and a soft credit check. The platform will only admit members with a credit score of over 675, which they classify as “good to excellent”.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) explains that “usually, credit scores fall between 300 and 850. A higher score means that you have “good” credit: businesses think you’re less of a risk, which means you’re more likely to get credit or insurance — or pay less for it”.
Once on the platform, Score users are not able to see each other’s credit score details. They can focus on finding a long-last relationship, with research showing that people with high credit scores are more likely to form committed relationships on the platform, its creators claim.
Score is an initiative by Neon Money Club, an organisation with a mission to “make good financial health part of your everyday lifestyle”.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Luke Bailey, the organiation’s CEO, explained that “Before you can educate people, you need to get their attention. With Score, we’re bringing the conversation to dating”.
He shared that those who apply for Score but do not have a high enough credit score, will be sent educational resources to help them build their financial literacy, as well as directed to credit builder Grow Credit.
“There needs to be more awareness about the doors that can be opened with a good credit history”, Bailey highlighted.
