“Tea App Green Flags” Launches To Repair Tea User Reputations

A new online reputation management service is stepping into the contentious world of Tea, the women-only dating safety app that allows anonymous reviews of men. A company called Tea App Green Flags now offers to help men remove or mitigate negative comments posted about them on the platform.

Tea, launched as a tool for women to share experiences and flag potential risks (such as catfishing or unsafe behavior), has grown into a widely discussed resource in online dating circles. Users can post anonymous ratings and comments about men they’ve dated, with the goal of promoting transparency and safety. However, the app has faced criticism for enabling unverified claims, leading to concerns about fairness, accuracy, and reputational harm.

Tea – and its direct counter-app, TeaOnHer – have a very bizarre and brief history. Tea’s original launch drew some minor criticism for the idea behind the platform, but two data breaches led to the app shutting down its DM system. A direct counter for men to flag women, TeaOnHer, launched as a gender-inverted approach at the same concept and was then promptly flagged for its own security issues, before both both apps disappeared. Early this year, Tea relaunched with “meaningfully improved” security and stricter data protection, while TeaOnher was officially discontinued.

Tea App Green Flags employs multiple staff members, suggesting meaningful demand among men who feel unfairly targeted or misrepresented on the app. While the exact methods remain undisclosed, typical reputation management tactics include contacting platforms for content removal (when possible), countering narratives with positive framing, or optimizing search visibility to push down negative results.

Regardless of personal feelings towards either Tea or Tea App Green Flags, the fact that the platform exists points to some lingering controversy surrounding Tea. Currently, the majority of clients seek help for minor critcisism like hygiene, and the service has stated that it won’t attempt to undo serious allegations like assault. This makes it the second service created as a direct response to Tea.
