Tinder and Snapchat Team Up with ‘Swipe Night’ Lens

Tinder has partnered with Snapchat to make aspects of its new original show available to people who aren’t on the dating app.

A special Swipe Night Lens can be accessed by Snapchat users in the US, giving them a chance to act out various situations from the show.

Consumers will be dropped into moments that require an important decision to be made, before choosing whether to swipe left and save themselves or swipe right and save the world. They can then share the results of their decisions with their friends.

A spokesperson for Tinder told Engadget: “The Lens was built specially for Swipe Night to recreate for Snapchat users the swiping experience from the new interactive show.

“Each directional swipe will bring the user to a different Snapchat experience, depending on their choice.”

New lenses will be released each Sunday to coincide with the new episodes going live on Tinder.

The first show aired on Sunday and lasted approximately five minutes. Each viewer received a unique experience as the choices they made for the main characters took their individual story down a unique path.

It was very well received, with people calling the idea “fun” and liking the fact that their choices can be added to their profile to help them match with like-minded people.

Snapchat and Tinder also collaborated in May to allow singles to integrate their stories into the dating app.
