Tinder Launches New Festival Mode

Tinder has introduced ‘Festival Mode’, an update which will aim to connect singles ahead of a summer music events.

A Festival Mode card has been put into the pack of potential matches. When a user swipes right on it they will be able to select which event they are attending, browse everyone else who is going, and add an exclusive badge to their profile.

There are eight festivals in the US to choose from, including EDC, The Governors Ball and Firefly, as well as four in the UK: British Summer Time, Parklife, All Points East and Lovebox.

The badges will be available approximately three weeks before an event is due to start.

A statement from Tinder said: “Get on Tinder and look for the Festival Mode card. Match with it to add your festival badge to your profile, and see who’s going where.

“From there, you can check out everyone else going to that festival, so you can match and chat before you make your flower crown.”

The dating app will be attending all 12 weekends, handing out free merchandise and giving Festival Mode users the chance to win exclusive VIP upgrades.

Tinder released a similar mode in February for US college students ahead of their Spring Break holidays. Singles could use a profile sticker to show where they would be partying, and connect with other singles before they got there.
