Tinder Supports Nightclub’s Virtual Pride Celebrations

Tinder has teamed up with an Australian nightclub franchise to celebrate Pride Month by hosting a number of virtual parties.

POOF DOOF has gay clubs in Melbourne and Sydney, and has been streaming online events to 30,000 viewers every Saturday since the beginning of lockdown.

The partnership with Tinder is kicking off tomorrow and is scheduled to run throughout the rest of the month. The night will include performances from Owl City, KLP and a number of LGBTQ DJs.

POOF DOOF CEO Anthony Hocking told Frooty: “It is fantastic to see global brands like Tinder supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in this wild time. The current climate has forced businesses in the nightlife economy to think outside the square and innovate – our ‘POOF DOOF Direct’ live-stream has been one way in which we have been able to continue to support our artists, DJs and performers as well as entertain our community each and every week.

“We could not continue to provide the live stream to the queer community if it was not for partners like Tinder supporting POOF DOOF and the ‘POOF DOOF Direct’ live-stream.”

The stream will begin on Facebook and Twitch at 9pm AEDT. Viewers can also make donations to support the club and its performers during this period of inactivity.

Gay social network Hornet is also supporting a number of online events during Pride Month. It is hosting a YouTube live stream featuring a discussion with numerous health experts to discuss what impact coronavirus has had on the community’s mental and sexual health.
