The School of Swipe, Tinder’s initiative to help young people find success in online dating, has now expanded to the Philippines. The programme was first launched in Singapore in August 2022, followed by an expansion into Spain.
The initiative promises its readers a “crash course” in online dating, targeting young adults looking to find a partner. Lessons include how to build a profile, how to use Tinder’s features, and how to lead dynamic conversations.
It also provides advice for offline dating, such as how to manage nerves, choose an ideal location, and empathise with your date partner.
Papri Dev, Communications Director APAC at Tinder discussed the expansion in an interview for CNN Philippines. She explained why the dating app chose the country as the third location for the School of Swipe:
“Philippines is an interesting market. I think young people are looking to meet other young people. They believe in dating. We find a lot of our members want to know more about dating”
“We worked with local dating coaches and got a great response. And so we believe the Philippines was definitely a good market to bring this programme to, where young daters would be able to experience this initiative”.
