Veggly Launches AI Vegan Assistant
Veggly, the dating app for vegans & vegetarians, has launched a new AI assistant that will help users to navigate a plant-based lifestyle. VegAssistant, currently a beta project, can help with recipes, restaurant recommendations, and more.
For meat-free singles, dating is a lot simpler when they can search for a romantic partner within a community that shares their lifestyle. This is the premise of dating app Veggly, which has had more than 1 million users and has arranged more than 3 million matches.
Added to its offerings is a new AI-powered tool to support the vegan and vegetarian lifestyle: VegAssistant. This free chat tool allows users to ask questions about restaurants, recipes, nutritional information, and even act as a ‘a vegan friend’, the platform shared.
It does note that this project is in a beta stage, and the “VegAssistant may produce inaccurate information about people, places, or facts”. These issues can be reported to the platform in order to make it more accurate moving forward.
This is not the first instance of a dating app using an AI service to provide helpful information. Flamme – The Couples App, adopted an AI tool that answers relationship related questions, including gift ideas, anniversary plans, and more.
Another similar example is Betterhalf’s AI-powered Whatsapp service where users are invited to chat with the company’s ‘Chief Matchmaking Officer’. The Indian matrimony platform developed this AI to interact with singles to understand their preferences and suggest life partners.
