Gaydar is one of the most recognisable LGBTQ brands in the world. Initially set up as a desktop site in 1999, the platform allows gay and bisexual men to meet for friendship, hook ups, dating and relationships.
The service currently provides chatrooms and forums for members to interact, and has an active online community based primarily in Anglophone countries.
GDI caught up with Managing Director Rob Curtis to talk about the brand’s unique selling points, and about some of the challenges of online dating.
Note: this interview was recorded before the death of co-founder Henry Badenhorst in November 2017.
